| Description: | 3c (10A) Orange brown, tied by black New Orleans grid killer. This is a reduced folded letter, but based upon notes on the reverse, and the handwriting and correspondence, it originated in Rodney, Miss on Oct 28th, and was passed on to the steamer Glendy Burke to take it into New Orleans, where it arrived on Oct 31st, getting the red New Orleans CDS. Steamer Glendy Burke packet marking in red, and New Orleans WAY 1 in red. The way fee was incorrectly being collected from the recipient at this time. Part of the large Watt & DeSaulles correspondence. |
