Pair and a single of Scott's US 147 3-cent green tied to cover with three strikes of a black crossroads postmark with two strikes of the New Straitsville town cancel below. Faint straight-line violet "Due 3 Cts" at left with a single Scott's US J-3 3-cent brown postage due tied with a black "COLUMBUS O RECD. postmark dated May 9 (1881) 11 AM. Docketing on back and front indicate the year 1881. Addressed to E. A. Cole of Columbus Ohio.
