Description: | Single 1 shilling green (Scotts GB #28) tied with Glasgow Scotland postmark #159 dated April 4, 1861. Single red strike of Philadelphia 24 PAID dated April 17 (1861) with an additional postmark "21 CENTS" in red on top. Addressed to William Muir at the William Struther's Marble Works in Philadelphia PA. Additional notation in pencil at left in 3 lines "Ste / Br / David" and pencil year date of 1861. On reverse is an imprint on the flap for "W. HOOD & CO. GLASGOW" "Late Brodie McLeod & Co.". No readable post markings. Pencil notations and Pen marking "Annie" and "Mention" |
