Contents of the letter is a dues notice in the amount of $3.00, for a meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science to be held the following year on August 3rd, 1859. The letter is addressed to the Honorable William Case, who was the 12th mayor of Cleveland Ohio serving two consecutive single year terms in 1850 and 1851, and also served as the former president of the Cleveland, Ashtabula, and Painesville Railroad.
