Endorsed "per str Illinois", docketed "Answered Aug 3rd 1857". Scarce east to west coast use of a Nesbitt. The steamer Illinois was owned by the US Mail Steamship Co. (USMSC) and operated between New York City and Aspinwall in Panama.
