Description:

Steamboat cover from Detroit to Cleveland. 3c dull red type III (26) tied by "Cleveland O. Jul 7" arrival circular datestamp and "Steamboat" 52 x 5mm handstamp applied in Cleveland as from a non-contract steamboat on Lake Erie.  With original letter datelined "Detroit July 6th 1858". Also enclosed is original Western Union telegram referencing James Collins, who is discussed in letter.
