"Boyd's City Express Post Jun. 4, 2 (PM)" oval datestamp on 6c green on buff Nesbitt entire (U14) originating in California and carried by the Pacific Express Company, large blue "Pacific Express Co. California No. 124 Broadway N,Y." oval handstamp applied by their New York office, addressed to 111 Pearl St. and forwarded to 187 Hudson St., additional Boyd's oval marking dated June 5, and "Paid J.T.B." marking

Very rare conjunctive service with Pacific Express Co. for transport from San Francisco to New York via steamer, then Boyd's for local delivery (including forwarding. Judging by the 6c rate and Boyd's June datestamp, this must be a 1854 usage.
