Packet Steamer Amanda, bold strike of blue oval handstamp (Milgram no. 42) on 1854 3ยข red on buff Nesbitt entire (U10) to New Orleans with black "New Orleans La. Mar. 28" cds & matching straight line "Steam" handstamp. Ex Pollitz, Hill.

Steamer "Amanda" of 142 gross tons was built at Louisville in 1852 for the Mobile - New Orleans trade. In April 1857, she was purchased by Henry Tucker with Capt. N.C. Briggs as Master operating on the Red River.
