The Henry Weinhard Brewery was established in 1862. It was forced to stop producing its well-known beer when National Prohibition took effect January 16, 1920 when all alcoholic breweries were shut down. The attached image shows the company's ad in The Oregonian from June 9, 1919 promoting its non-alcoholic beer. The company also produced Appo, their sweetened apple drink and various soft drinks. When Prohibition was repealed effective April 7, 1933 Weinhard happily resumed production of beer.
