Baltimore Md., 1c Green Carrier (1LB4) position 9, manuscript cancel, used with 3c Orange Brown, Type II (10A) tied by grid cancel, "Baltimore Md. Aug 5" (1851) circular datestamp on folded cover to New York.

An extremely rare combination of the Baltimore Carrier stamp and 1851 3-cent orange brown. The 1c Green and 1c Red on White are the rarest of the Baltimore Carrier Department issues. Only a few covers are known with the 1c Green used in combination with regular postage. Ex Middendorf and Geiser. With 1991 P.F. certificate.
