Folded letter from single sheet of paper datelined Boat-Run Ohio, Oct 7, 1840. Originally rated 10 cents but for unknown reason the 10 was crossed out and the letter sent Free (perhaps because of empathetic postmaster?).

FULL TEXT OF ANTI-SLAVERY LETTER

Boat Run Ohio Oct 7th 1840

Dear Sir, I take the liberty of requesting you to notify the people of your vicinity that I shall deliver anti-slavery lectures at the following times and places. 1st on Monday evening next at Johnston's school-house on (???) near 1 mile from your Village please inform Mr Johnston. 2nd at Mr Hiliry Walker's 6 miles up the east fork, of this appointment be so good as to inform Mr Thomas Case who made the request and promised to send word to Mr Walker the meeting to be on Tuesday evening. 3rd on Wednesday evening, in Williamsburg, 4th on Thursday evening, in Batavia. I am deeply impressed with the importance of the Abolition cause and hope that my labors may be blessed.
