Description:

Quadruple rate- business size envelope with single Scott's US #178 2-cent vermillion and a single Scott's US #161 10-cent brown paying the 3 - 4 oz postal fee. Addressed to D. L. Kent Co. Stamps are lightly canceled with the Troy NY cds and killer. In lower left corner is a violet time and date marking from the Central National Bank of Troy dated April 30, 1877. The 10 cent stamp appears to have been printed from a worn plate, as much of the design is not visible and the print is light. The reverse is sealed with remains of five red wax seals.
