| Description: | #11, 3c Red Brown, side sheet margin copy, cutting at top and bottom, tied to cover by rare style "New - York." postmark with period after "K" and short dash at top, "Sep 8" date, original 1856 dated letter, this postmark is unlisted in Hubert Skinner's summary of New York City markings as published by the Philatelic Foundation in 1990, I do not recall seeing an example of this postmark before and now have two in stock (1856 and 1857 uses), cover edge worn at right |
