[US Consulate Elsineur] eagle illustrated cachet on reverse of 1861 cover, via Hamburg to Roxbury, Conn., Helsingor origin postmark" KDOPA Hamburg" transit backstamp, "Aachen 10 Cts" exchange debit marking, red "2" crayon credit to Belgium, carried on Allan Line steamer "Nova Scotian" hat sailed from Liverpool on May 20 and arrived at Quebec on July 4, have weekend and train trip it received the Portland ME July 8 exchange office datestamp with encirled "35" due handstamp for PCM rate for Denmark, boxed "Missent" and "Forwarded" handstamp along left edge most likely missent to Roxbury, Mass.

A rare cover, corner faulty, that encloses the original letter date "North Sea, November 11, 1861" from teh daughter of the addressee, evidently forwarded by the US Consul (from Hamlet's Kronborg castle? "the rest is silence")
