Description:

Three single 1c #24, Ty V, originating in Chicago, IL, with their blue grid killer and double circle town postmark.

The destination was Mountain City, in the Kansas Territory.
This was up in the mining area.

This was endorsed "Care of COC & PP Exp".
At St Joseph, MO, this was handed over to the: "Central Overland California & Pikes Peak Express Company", which applied its handstamp in Green, on Feb 9.

It was then carried by stage by the COC & PPE to Mountain City.

This is on a Silver Manufacturer's corner card.
Corner cards such as this, and also a franking of 1c stamps are fairly scarce uses with the COC & PP Express.
