The Victoria Hotel stood at the NW corner of King and Princess Streets, and opened in 1840 by Charles P. Frazier. By 1843 the five story brick building was a well-known and established landmark. An archeological survey was conducted on the site where the Victoria Hotel had stood, during construction work. Included in the excavation were stables, kitchen and outbuildings located behind the hotel.
