3c red on buff Star Die postal entire (U27) with "Monroe La. Mar 4" (1861) circular date stamp, addressed to Fredericksburg, Virginia. With "Jacksonville Miss. Mar 7" transit postmark, and "Fredericksburg Va. Mar 16" receiving postmark. Forwarded to Gloucester Court House, Virginia with manuscript "Forwd 3" three-cent forwarding fee collected from recipient.  Unusual Confederate use of U.S. postage.
