Description:

1c blue on buff Star Die postal entire (#U19), ungummed flap, with blue "Chicago Ill Dec 22 1862" duplex circular datestamp with target cancel addressed to Newburgh, N.Y.  1c circular rate use.

This blue 26mm postmark with target cancel, Piszkiewicz type A-13, is recorded used from Nov 23, 1862 to Sept. 1, 1863. So this must be a 1862 use. In addition, the circular rate went up to 2c effective July 1, 1863, further confirming that this is a 1862 use.
