2c green postal entire (#U311) with 8c magenta Columbian Exposition Issue (#236) paying registry fee, tied by "Huntingdon Pa. Dec 17 1896" duplex on cover to Clarendon, Vt. Manuscript "Reg. No. 139", corner card of "Pennsylvania Industrial Reformatory, Huntingdon, Pa."

The facility was opened in 1889 and was modeled after the Elmira Reformatory in New York and was called the"Huntingdon Reformatory for Young Offenders". State Correctional Institution Huntingdon was used for "defective delinquents" until 1960, after that it became a maximum-security prison.
