10c dark blue, Hoyer & Ludwig printing (CSA #2b) tied by "Thibodeaux La. Mar 27 1862" cds on demonetized 3c Star Die postal entire (U26) to "Major Gen. Braxton Bragg, Corinth, Mississippi."  Signed on back by Patricia A. Kauffmann. 
Bragg marched his forces to Corinth in command of the Second Corps of the army opposed against Grant in the Battle of Shiloh (April 6-7, 1862). In this famous battle Albert Sidney Johnson was kiled in action, and Beauregard succeeded to the general command, while Bragg was promoted to general and assigned to the command of the army of the Mississippi, with Polk, Hardee and Breckinridge as his corps commanders. 
Braxton Bragg (1817-1876) was a graduate of West Point, a principal Confederate commander in the Western Theatre of the American Civil War, and was later the military advisor to President Jefferson Davis.
