"FALMOUTH PACKET" Stampless folded business letter datelined: St Petersburgh 22 April 1802 from Blandow & Co. to Richd. Grahme in New York. Privately carried from Russia to London where the letter postage was paid "3/8"(June 2) to be put aboard a Falmouth Packet sailing for New York. The "PRINCESS AMELIA" sailed from Falmouth on 8 June 1802, arriving in New York on 4 August 1802. The letters recipient was not in New York, but had left for Boston, Someone at his old firm brought the letter to Stamford Ct where it was mailed at the 17 cent rate to Boston.
