Description:

3c rose (#65) with grid cancel and "Salem Mass Jan. 30" 32mm circular datestamp on cover to Boston.

Addressed to Miss M (?) A. Revere, care of John Revere.

This might be the John Revere (born in Boston, 31 Mar. 1822, died 26 July 1886) who was the grandson of the famous Paul Revere. His father was Joseph Warren Revere (1777-1868), who took over the family's copper business from his father Paul Revere in 1810. John Revere had a daughter named Grace Lizzie Revere (1854-1928) but her initials don't match those on this cover. In addition, depending on the year of this cover (anywhere from 1862 to 1868 since it an ungrilled stamp), she would have been only 8 to14 years old at that time. So I suspect this was sent to some other member of the Revere family of Boston, not Paul Revere's grandson, probably a cousin.
