Privately carried folded letter to Derry Township, near Loyalhanna, Westmoreland County, Pa. Letter is datelined "Greensburgh Nov. 26 1833" which is also within Westmoreland County, Pa. Leter is endorsed "Mr. Conner" who evidently carried this letter by favor.

Derry Township is only 18 miles to the northeast of Greensburgh. However, neither Derry Township nor Loyalhanna had post offices established until many years later; only Greensburgh had a post office in operation at that time.

Letter content is about a pending lawsuit including the right to use a small millstone in the writer's Mill.  Excerpt: "In the trial of this suit the priority of Parkinson & Gilmore's Patent will be tested . . ."
