1c blue, dark shade (#63) with 3c rose (#65) and three copies of 10c green (#68) on green cameo corner card yellow cover to U.S. Legation in Guatemala, all tied by "Brooklyn N.Y. Oct 6 1862" double circle datestamps, red "N.York Br. Pkt. Oct 8 Paid 19" exchange office datestamp. "New-York Oct 11" circular datestamp. Red "2" handstamp for 2 reales internal postage. 34 cent rate (per half ounce) from U.S. to port of entry, in this case to Puerto Barrios, Guatemala's main port on the Carribean Sea. Guatemala City is in the country's interior in a mountain valley.

Embossed cameo corner card reads "T. Brooks & Co. 127 Fulton St., cor. Sands St., Brooklyn, N.Y."  Thomas Brooks & Co. was a furniture manufacturer. Directive "Pr. Steamer of the 11th". Docketing "Oct. 6 1862 Bill for varnish".  From the E.O. Crosby (U.S. Minister to Guatemala) correspondence. 1988 P.F. certificate.
