Hungary 1880 5 krajczar carmine-rose perf. 11-1/2 (SG# 17ba) tied by "Apátfalva 24/ 7" (1880) circular datestamp on cover to Halas. This is the earliest documented use of the perf. variety of this stamp. "Halas 25/ 7 80" arrival backstamp.

Apátfalva is a village in Csongrád County in Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary.
Halas is now known as
Kiskunhalas (Hungarian: Halas, German: Hallasch). Kiskunhalas used to be surrounded by lakes that were rich in fish; Hal is Hungarian for fish, hence the town's name. The city is an important railway junction.
