Mailed from New Orleans in Dec 1939 without apparent return address, to a nurse in the 2nd Australian AIF on the SS (RMS) Orion, a passenger ship turned troop transport. The Orion sailed to Egypt then on to Australia to pick up troops. The letter made it to Alexandria Feb 20, 1940, was stamped "undeliverable for reason stated return to sender" (though no reason stated). There is a faint postmark on the front dated 6 MCH 1940 appearing to be "GRAYS" (England) then a Canadian DLO and finally mute New Orleans cancels on the postage dues. Looks like the stamp at the top right was removed after leaving NO.
