1876 3c green Centennial issue postal entire (#U221) with 3c green Continental Banknote (#158) tied by "Galveston, Tex. Dec. 8" (1876) circular datestamp with cork cancel, also by red "New York Dec. 13" transit datestamp, addressed to Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. On reverse: Swiss "Ambulant No. 1, 26.XII.76" (traveling railroad post office) transit marking and "Chaux de Fonds 26.XII.76" receiving marking. Manuscript directive "Per Closed Mail via England".

1-cent convenience overpayment of the 5-cent UPU rate to Switzerland.
