Description: Three cent 1851, Scott 11, tied by two strikes of a roman numeral III within a wreath on an envelope bearing the very scarce "Green Island" straight line marking in black.  The fancy cancel on the three cent stamp is inspired by the reverse design on the, then current, three cent silver coin.  (see photo)  The three cent coin was issued in 1851, in conjunction with the reduced postal rate for a letter, with the intent of making it easier to purchase the newly issued three cent stamp.
