Description: Through The Lines cover.  Unknown northern origin, transmitted by the Adams Express Company for which a fee of 25 cents paid (2/ = 2 bits = 25 cents).  Entered the Confederate mail system at Mobile, where a 5-cent postmaster's provisional (58X2) added.  Both the provisional and the 3-cent US envelope indicia canceled with a Mobile double ring CDS.
