Description:

Single Scott's US #11 Orange-red tied by a black Boston PAID, but having two individual red Boston postmarks - both dated OCT 3. The darker of the two postmarks has "3 cts" at the bottom - indicating payment of 3 cents (paid by the stamp)- The other postmark was apparently applied first in error and has "6 cts" at the bottom. Notes indicate year date. There is no indication that his envelope required anything but standard postage. Two lines recut in upper left triangle.
