[Butterfield Overland Route] 3c Nesbitt entire with "Overland" endorsement used to Sacramento, "Saint Joseph, Mo May 21 1859" origin postmark, sender probably intended it to be send via the Central Overland Route as fully prepaid for under 3,000 mile distance. However, as it was rated as short paid 10c rate for over 3,000 miles rate with a "Due 7" handstamp, it show that it was carried on the Butterfield route passing through San Francisco with their distinctive "Due 7" handstamp, a most unusual use
